MEMBERSHIP

Membership will commence from the date of the next Quatuor Coronati Council meeting following receipt of your application. Members of the Correspondence Circle, if freemasons, will enjoy the same privileges as members of Quatuor Coronati Lodge except the right to vote or to hold office in the Lodge or Company. In particular they will receive a copy of Ars Quatuor Coronatorum, the annual volume of the transactions of the Lodge which contains the papers delivered in the Lodge, the discussions that followed and the written observations submitted members who received the paper but were unable to be present. In addition the volumes contain papers adaptable for use in lodges or other masonic meetings and an interesting, wide-ranging collection of notes and queries on a great variety of masonic subjects. The annual volume itself, which is circulated exclusively to members, would cost more than the amount of the subscription if published on a commercial basis.Members also receive the Lodge summonses, pages 3 & 4 of which are normally devoted to items of masonic educational interest of popular appeal. Masonic members may attend Quatuor Coronati Lodge meetings and participate in the discussions that follow the delivery of papers. Non-masonic members may attend those meetings advertised as being open to them. Brethren from overseas are especially welcome. The regular meeting dates are the third Thursday in February; the second Thursday in May; the fourth Thursday in June and the second Thursdays in September and November (Installation). Members of the Correspondence Circle are entitled to purchase any of the other publications of the Company which, as in the case of the annual volume, are also available only to members. Members are entitled to submit any questions on masonic history, custom, ritual, etc. to the secretary who will arrange for authoritative replies to be sent. Members are entitle to participate in valuable and constructive work as associates of the premier lodge of masonic research. They may dine with members of the lodge after the meetings provided prior notice is given. The dining fee is normally collected at table.

THE ANNUAL TRANSACTIONS

The annual Transactions represent the work of the Quatuor Coronati Lodge since 1886 and form an incomparable collection. They contain the deliberations of many celebrated students in various fields of masonic study and research and are of inestimable value for all who seek to make a daily advancement in masonic knowledge. All volumes from 1 to 120 are now available on CD-ROM. The Transactions and other publications may only be purchased by members of the lodge and individual or corporate members of the Correspondence Circle. The Company publishes reproductions of rare and valuable masonic works thereby making them accessible to students everywhere. Several standard works by masonic authorities have also been published either by the Company or under its supervision.

CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP

When a lodge, chapter or other regular masonic body joins the Correspondence Circle, its members (who must be Master Masons and in good standing), enjoy all the privileges of membership but only one copy of each of the lodge summonses is sent and only one copy of the annual volume of the Transactions. Many brethren therefore prefer individual membership in order to receive publications promptly and to retain them for later reference.Whenever possible, speakers will be provided for lecture meetings. No fee is involved but reimbursement of travel expenses and overnight accommodation where necessary must be arranged. Requests for lecturers should be addressed to the secretary, giving ample notice. When speakers are not available, members are recommended to make use of the Supplements to the Transactions which contain many interesting papers, questions and answers, notes, &c. all especially written for this purpose. The third section Insolentiae Latomorum - Oddities of the Masons - contains items of a popular rather than academic interest. Papers, notes and queries submitted by members of the Correspondence Circle are welcomed. Papers must necessarily be of requisite standard if they are to be considered for publication, guidance and advice on such matters will readily be given.
